FAA Airport Regulation & Operating Procedures
Ramp Protocol
a. All detailing or aircraft care takes place in non-movement locations included, but not limited to (hanger aprons or lease tie-downs.
b. No operation of vehicle or equipment in movement areas (taxiways or runways) without special authorization local airport ground control authority.
c. All vehicles operating on the ramp have flashing amber beacons or lights during operation with proper displayed company identification visible.
d. Never block aircraft taxi paths, fueling operations, or fire lanes.

Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Prevention
a. Keep tool and towel counts (everything brought to the job site leaves the jobsite).
b. Secured bags and toolboxes nothing can blow away.
c. Inspection on the ground around aircraft after every job before aircraft movement.

Chemical Handling & Environmental Compliance
a. the FAA defers to EPA on local airport environment policies.
b. FAA expects compliance to proper storage of cleaning chemicals in approved containers (no leaks or open containers).
c. Secondary Containment Trays when mixing or dispensing products.
d. No runoff or overspray into storm drains, or ramp drainage systems. Waste water must also be disposed of according to airport environment procedures -- often through a designated facility, not storm drains.
e. Material Safety data Sheets (MSDS) for every product used on-site.

Security Regulations (Access & Identification)
ANYONE WORKING IN SECURED AREA'S MUST:
a. Have an airport-issued ID badge (SIDA or AOA badge).
b. Pass TSA background checks
c. Always display badges visibly while working.
d. No unauthorized personnel can be present on the ramp - even helpers or photographers - without proper clearance.
Fire & Hazardous Materials Safety
a. Fire extinguisher within 50 ft of work area where flammable liquids are used.
b. No open flames, smoking, or heat guns near fuel vents or open maintenance panels.
c. Comply with NFPA 407 (Aircraft Fuel Servicing) guidelines.
d. Store rags and solvents in fireproof containers when on-site.
Documentation & Airport Coordination
a. Ramp access permits, or daily work authorizations.
b. Proof of liability insurance listing the airport as an additional insured.
c. Submission of your SOP or Safety Plan for review.
All records of who worked, what chemicals were used, and where - in case of inspection or incident.
